Position Overview

Key Responsibilities
The Custodian will be tasked with maintaining specific areas and is expected to uphold cleanliness standards that include but are not limited to:

  • Executing daily cleaning tasks as outlined by the Facilities Director.
  • Adjusting work schedules as necessary to accommodate school events or staff absences.
  • Performing cleaning duties such as washing, sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, and vacuuming designated spaces to meet required standards.
  • Ensuring that restrooms and wash areas are kept to the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Removing trash on a daily basis.
  • Checking and replenishing supplies in dispensers, including toilet paper and paper towels, on a daily basis.
  • Conducting thorough 'deep cleaning' during school breaks.
  • Assisting with school events as needed.
  • Completing all tasks to a high standard of quality.
  • Collaborating effectively as part of the housekeeping team.
  • Participating in all required training sessions.
  • Handling cleaning chemicals and equipment with care.

Health and Safety Compliance
All cleaning materials and equipment must be used according to their intended purpose and in compliance with health and safety regulations. Proper storage of cleaning supplies when not in use is mandatory.

Qualifications
Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Previous experience in cleaning or maintenance roles.
  • The flexibility to adapt to various daily requests.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective interaction with students and staff.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
  • The physical capability to lift and transport equipment as required.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
