Position Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Schedule: Hour shifts with on-call requirements during weekdays, weekends, and holidays.

Compensation: $45.45 per hour based on experience, sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 with a two-year commitment, relocation assistance ranging from $3,000 to $5,000, and a $9,000 student loan repayment for graduates after December 2023.

Overview:

System One, a prominent provider of workforce solutions, is currently seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist. This role involves administering contrast materials in accordance with established protocols under the guidance of the proceduralist, while demonstrating effective positioning and appropriate radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures. Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer contrast materials in line with assigned protocols under the proceduralist's direction.
  • Exhibit proper positioning and radiographic techniques for all interventional procedures, showcasing a thorough understanding of patient preparation, equipment operation, and monitoring systems.
  • Ensure accurate patient identification using two identifiers and adhere to universal protocols during procedures. Review patient history and assess physician orders, applying departmental protocols for optimal data acquisition. Document patient history in electronic records as necessary.
  • Promote an environment that supports aseptic techniques during procedures and prioritizes patient safety through a time-out process.
  • Effectively communicate instructions to patients in a clear manner, explaining procedures to alleviate concerns and encourage cooperation.
  • Ensure all exams within your area of responsibility are accurately coded and tracked through the RIS system, with all exams properly archived and interpreted through ISITE, and all charges entered for performed exams.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills while interacting with patients and colleagues, exhibiting a high level of care, respect, and dignity. Collaborate effectively within the department and across other departments to facilitate efficient patient care.
  • Support other departments by performing general radiographic procedures as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Advanced IR Tech: Completion of formal training in an IR-related program accredited by the ARRT with a minimum of two years of IR experience.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification required, in accordance with AHA standards, including both didactic and skills demonstration components within 30 days of hire.
  • ARRT Certification or Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist.

Additional Requirements:

  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting certification with renewal.
  • Act 33 certification with renewal.
  • Act 34 certification with renewal.
