Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at General Dynamics - Ordnance and Tactical Systems. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling components into sub-assemblies and performing final assembly of Aircraft and Crew-served weapons.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble components into sub-assemblies and perform final assembly of Aircraft and Crew-served weapons.
  • Maintain, set up, and operate a variety of equipment such as arbor and hydraulic straightening presses, paint, and other machinery.
  • Follow established company directives and policies, military specifications, process sheet operations, and instructions.
  • Ensure appropriate interchange of sub-assembly components through a constant awareness of required tolerance and fit of mating parts.
  • Use precision functional gages, alignment and work holding fixtures, pneumatic tools, drill presses, riveters, etc.
  • Perform fitting and rework tasks such as grinding, filling, drilling, etc.
  • Use hand tools such as pneumatic and hand type abrasive tools, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, mallets, etc.
  • Must have physical ability to lift, move, adjust, etc. items weighing approximately 35 lbs. on a production basis.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must:

  • Pass an assembly on-site test using blueprints and be mechanically skilled.
  • Have a high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Have basic computer skills and be able to enter and verify information into written forms or database(s) as appropriate.
  • Average 18 months of experience, including over 1 year through 2 years of experience in a related field.
