Probation Officer

The U.S. Probation Office is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Probation Officer to join our team. As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring public safety and promoting rehabilitation among individuals under supervision.

• Conduct investigations and prepare reports with recommendations, which requires interviewing individuals and their families, as well as collecting background data from various sources.
• Enforce court-ordered supervision components and implement supervision plans to ensure compliance with conditions of release.
• Investigate and analyze financial documents and activities, and take appropriate action to ensure compliance with court orders.
• Communicate with other organizations and persons, such as the U.S. Parole Commission, Bureau of Prisons, and law enforcement agencies, to share information and coordinate efforts.
• Prepare written reports of adjustment, including violation matters, and make recommendations for disposition.

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a field of academic study that provides evidence of the capacity to understand and apply the legal requirements and human relations skills involved in the position.
• Specialized experience as a Probation Officer or in a related field, with a strong understanding of the U.S. Probation Office's mission and values.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with varying levels of education and experience.
