The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant will work under the general supervision of the department Supervisor in Rehabilitation Services to provide high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to patient-centered care.

Responsibilities:

  • Report and discuss patient status with Occupational Therapist
  • Take initiative in communicating patient changes and scheduling consultations
  • Administer patient treatment based on established evaluation or reassessment
  • Complete required documentation in a timely fashion
  • Maintain productivity at department standard
  • Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel
  • Participate in case management of patient's rehabilitation services
  • Perform non-clinical tasks and demonstrate work habits to support effective daily operation
  • Participate in departmental, hospital, or community programs/meetings
  • Teach, orient, train, supervise, and mentor co-workers, new employees, volunteers, observers, and at least one student annually

Requirements:

  • Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) certification
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
