We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Fabricator to join our team at ABC Sheet Metal. This is a full-time position on 2nd shift.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience in precision welding and fabrication, with expertise in GTAW (TIG) and GMAW (MIG) processes. They will be responsible for welding and fitting complex assemblies made of sheet metal, machined components, tubing, and fittings, while adhering to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

  • TIG and MIG weld thin-to-thick gauge aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel.
  • Familiarity with welding procedures and specifications (e.g., D1.1, D1.6).
  • Read CAD drawings, including weld symbols.
  • Knowledge of filler materials for aluminum, stainless steel, and steel alloys.
  • Inspect work using blueprints and precision measuring tools.
  • Knowledge of welding sequences, fixtures, and procedures.
  • Perform process inspection and documentation.
  • Finish products using brush, grind, or sanding tools.
  • Set up and operate resistance (spot) welding equipment (optional).
  • Maintain welding equipment and machinery as required.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in precision welding and fabrication.
  • Ability to design and build complex fixtures as needed.
  • Consistently hold tight tolerances up to +/- 0.010 inches.
  • Pass required welding certifications as needed.
  • Read, understand, and follow detailed welding procedures.
  • Work flexible hours to support overtime requirements.
  • Produce effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Communicate well with all levels of the organization.
  • Lift 25 pounds consistently without assistance, 75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
