At the Good Samaritan Society, we are dedicated to providing high-quality care and service to our residents. As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate and person-centered care to those in need.
About the RoleThe NA serves as a caregiver to residents during scheduled work periods, providing daily living assistance and support under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN). This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and have a strong commitment to delivering exceptional care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents
- Assist with basic health care needs, including bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing, and vital sign collection
- Participate in food preparation and dining experiences, creating a positive environment for residents
- Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures, if needed
- Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- High school graduate or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Minimum age of 16; prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred
- Required Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing, or state certified CNA within four months of date into the position by being enrolled in a training program or in the process of obtaining certification through Endorsement
- Satisfactorily complete yearly department specific competency testing and maintain a record of continuing education credits for each year
