Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, the Packaging Operator will be responsible for the efficient packaging of produced materials into containers, labeling, and transporting finished products. The role includes:

  • Adhering to all safety protocols and ensuring that work quality meets established standards
  • Executing work orders and production guidelines while maintaining precise documentation
  • Operating mixing machinery and accurately weighing finished items
  • Cleaning processing tanks and ensuring proper identification of tank numbers
  • Utilizing a lift truck to move items for filling, distribution, and storage purposes
The Packaging Operator will also support the shipping and receiving department by:

  • Labeling stock batches from production and customer orders
  • Stretch wrapping completed products on pallets
  • Loading and unloading trucks using a forklift
  • Verifying incoming deliveries by matching purchase orders with delivery documents
  • Using a copier and/or computer to generate labels

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous experience in manufacturing is preferred; experience in handling liquid products is advantageous
  • Experience in shipping and receiving is a plus
  • A combination of experience and education will be considered
  • Ability to frequently lift and transport items weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Prior forklift operation experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong mathematical skills, familiarity with both US and metric measurements, and the ability to convert between different weights and measures
  • Capability to follow both verbal and written instructions while maintaining accurate records
  • Candidates must be able to pass a color vision test, wear a fitted respirator, and tolerate the odors of solvents and other chemicals used in the facility
  • The facility maintains a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and vaping-free environment
