About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our team at ECHN as a Certified Oncology Care Specialist. This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to delivering exceptional patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive treatment plans.

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of oncology principles, excellent communication skills, and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in cancer care.

Responsibilities
  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical and surgical conditions, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects, to develop individualized care plans that address their unique needs.
  • Medications and Pain Management: Administer medications and implement pain management strategies to ensure optimal patient comfort and safety.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals, to coordinate patient care and communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers.
  • Education and Support: Provide education and support to patients and families on topics such as medication management, symptom control, and coping mechanisms to enhance their overall quality of life.
  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives to identify areas for improvement and implement evidence-based changes to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or Master's degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Connecticut
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in oncology nursing
