As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for the registration of all patients seeking services at Arnot Health, ensuring a focus on patient access and satisfaction. Your duties will include:
- Accurate Patient Registration: Ensure precise registration of all patients while maintaining a thorough understanding of the necessary information for various patient types, facilitating timely and accurate reporting and billing.
- Patient Documentation: Distribute relevant patient materials and secure necessary signatures on consents, permits, and financial forms, including charity applications when applicable.
- Cost Collection: Collect patient cost-sharing amounts (such as copays and deductibles) in accordance with service standards, while guiding patients to financial assistance resources as needed.
- Order Entry: Manage order entry for services including laboratory, radiology, and therapy, ensuring accurate reconciliation with the respective departments.
- Precertification Coordination: Obtain precertification status for applicable services, ensuring compliance with procedural standards.
- Bed Utilization Coordination: Collaborate with nursing services to optimize bed usage while adhering to registration and order entry protocols.
- Centralized Scheduling: Assist in centralized scheduling efforts, ensuring relevant information is communicated to the appropriate departments.
- Insurance Verification: Utilize verification tools to confirm patient insurance details, maintaining an error rate that aligns with service standards.
- Switchboard Operations: Occasionally function as the primary switchboard operator, managing incoming calls and directing inquiries appropriately.
- Additional Duties: May include mail distribution, inventory management, and chart retrieval as necessary.
- Training and Compliance: Participate in training sessions for peers and adhere to all current and future policies and procedures.
- Quality Patient Interaction: Demonstrate a commitment to patient satisfaction by engaging with patients in a friendly and attentive manner, ensuring a secure and pleasant experience.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Preferred candidates will have a minimum of six months of experience in healthcare, finance, collections, or billing, along with proficiency in computer applications. Familiarity with medical terminology and coding is advantageous.
