Position Summary

Provide essential reproductive and prenatal healthcare services within a dynamic medical team, adhering to Planned Parenthood's protocols and operational procedures as directed by the Health Center Manager.

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct comprehensive health history assessments, encompassing obstetric, gynecologic, contraceptive, medical, surgical, sexual, family, and psychosocial histories. Accurately document findings.
  • Perform thorough physical examinations with a focus on the reproductive system, including breast exams, pelvic examinations, cancer screening tests, diagnosis of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), and other specialized procedures as outlined by medical policy.
  • Deliver direct medical care to patients for core services, including prenatal care, family planning, surgical abortion, medication abortion, and colposcopy, after receiving observation and approval.
  • Contribute to achieving customer-focused goals and ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Provide referrals and facilitate follow-up care for patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic studies as indicated and permitted by affiliate medical protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Medical Director, President & CEO, and Sr. Vice President, Patient Services & Operations to maintain compliance with established standards and guidelines.
  • Educate patients on essential health topics, including family planning, nutrition, sexual counseling, and principles of health promotion and maintenance.
Non-Essential Functions:
  • Partner with the healthcare team and community agencies (e.g., physicians, local health departments, social services, nutritionists, dentists, and parent education groups) to provide comprehensive patient care through joint planning and coordination of activities.
  • Participate in Compliance, Risk & Management, and Quality Assurance programs, medical committee meetings, and other affiliate and center meetings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Experience, Education, and Licensure
  • Possess a current NYS license as an NP, PA, CNM, or MD. National certification is preferred.
  • Maintain current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Have three to five years of clinical experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates comparable knowledge and abilities.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
