Racing Bookkeeper

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Racing Bookkeeper to join our team at PENN Entertainment, Inc.

The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking the riding accounts of jockeys, disbursing fees to claimants, and preparing horseman's checks and transfers to account holders.

As a Racing Bookkeeper, you will work closely with stewards to resolve fine issues and reconcile all accounts associated with live racing. You will also coordinate financial transactions with the Director of Racing and the Director of Finance as needed.

This is a dynamic and fast-paced role that requires excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills, as well as a high level of organization and attention to detail.

• Track riding accounts of jockeys and disburse fees to claimants
• Prepare horseman's checks and transfers to account holders
• Manage the bookkeeper office to ensure procedures are followed
• Work with stewards to resolve fine issues
• Reconcile all accounts associated with live racing
• Coordinate financial transactions with the Director of Racing and the Director of Finance

• Minimum of 2 years administrative and accounting experience
• Experience in MS Office and data base management
• Incompass software experience preferred
• Previous cash handling experience necessary
• Commitment to confidentiality of information and records
• Excellent problem-solving and prioritization skills
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Demonstrated commitment/interest/experience in the racing industry preferred
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Licensed by The Ohio State Racing Commission
