Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for compounding and dispensing medications, providing drug information, and overseeing the work of support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record Management
    • Ensure accurate medication patient profiles are maintained in the Cerner system 100% of the time.
    • Develop proficiency in pharmacy information systems, including troubleshooting and clarifying orders.
    • Notify clinical pharmacists when an order is placed in the clinical queue.
    • Display initiative to prevent, identify, and resolve pharmacy-related patient care problems immediately.
  • Consultation
    • Provide appropriate adult, geriatric, pediatric, and neonatal patient care after assessment and interpretation of patient data and needs.
    • Offer concise, applicable, comprehensive, and timely responses to requests for drug information to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Compounding & Dispensing Medication
    • Fill medications correctly during the filling process, providing supervision as needed.
    • Weigh, measure, and compound medications accurately using appropriate tools and equipment.
    • Dispense scheduled medications correctly and return them to the Narcotic Vault 100% of the time.
  • Ensures Quality and Cost Effectiveness
    • Fill medications correctly and accurately label them for patients in a timely manner 100% of the time.
    • Make approved Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee substitutions when applicable at the point of order entry 100% of the time.
  • Other Duties as Assigned
    • Participate in projects as needed.
    • Complete other assigned projects.
Qualifications
  • Up to 1 year of experience.
  • Current license with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy; RPH.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically, relying on personal judgment to accomplish goals.
