Locksmith Professional

We are seeking a skilled Locksmith to join our team at Northern Kentucky University. As a Locksmith, you will be responsible for providing key management services, troubleshooting and repairing door and lock hardware, and ensuring the security and integrity of our facilities.

• Fulfill key requests, including duplication and verification of security access.
• Complete campus work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Plan and prioritize work, including unlocking doors, performing repairs and maintenance on door hardware, and re-keying cylinders.
• Collaborate with other locksmiths and specialists to ensure effective campus repairs and record-keeping.
• Monitor potential security risks and maintain the security and cleanliness of the locksmith shop.
• Provide accurate reports on master key systems and consult with other departments on lock changes and key issuance.
• Perform visual checklists and database audits of key and key tag inventory.
• Respond to emergency locksmith calls outside normal working hours.

• Preferred vocational/technical training in Locksmith Trade and 4 years of experience in Locksmith Trade.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Acceptable equivalency of Locksmith Vocational/Technical with 2 years of related work experience in Locksmith trade.
• Basic computer experience/skills with knowledge of Microsoft office products.
• Ability to safely operate hand/power tools, trade-specific equipment, and other related equipment.
• Physical ability to perform medium-heavy and maximum exertion.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, follow verbal and/or written instructions, and maintain confidentiality.
