Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Mental Health Tech, you will provide quality direct patient care to the assigned population, maintaining a therapeutic milieu, providing a safe and supportive environment, and monitoring basic physical, emotional, and social needs. You will also serve as a role model for ethical behavior, promoting an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with our Mission, Vision, and Values.
Key Responsibilities- Assists patients through a trauma-informed care atmosphere in developing individuality and appropriate methods of self-expression.
- Provides feedback and positive reinforcement, consistently applying program rights and regulations, behavior modification programs, and communicating in an appropriate manner with patients.
- Maintains a secure environment and acts as a resource for emergency situations, performing basic nursing tasks such as vital signs, blood pressure, specimen collection, and assisting with ADLs.
- Provides trauma-informed care and supervision to patients needing physical restraints or seclusion room.
- Communicates effectively utilizing verbal and written methods within a diverse and multicultural environment, maintaining harmonious working relationships with the interdisciplinary team and other departments.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a High School Diploma with at least 1 year of experience as a Psych Tech or Equivalent. You must also be listed on the Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Department of Health at the time of hire or within 90 days of employment. Additionally, you will obtain Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification, Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting - APS- IA & NE, and First Aid certification within six months of employment.
