Polysomnography Technologist

At Mercy Health, we're committed to delivering exceptional care to our patients. As a Polysomnography Technologist, you'll play a vital role in helping us achieve this goal.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations and treatments of sleep disorders using polysomnography diagnostic and therapeutic services.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, explain the process, and ensure their cooperation during testing.
  • Operate polysomnographic equipment to obtain diagnostic recordings, manually controlling the equipment to obtain relevant waveforms.
  • Decipher normal from abnormal results, obtaining additional tests as needed to demonstrate abnormalities.
  • Write detailed, accurate technical reports to aid physicians in interpreting test data.
  • Administer neurodiagnostic procedures without direct supervision, utilizing appropriate protocols.
  • Monitor test quality, ensuring prudent resource management and adherence to hospital and departmental sterile technique.
  • Assist with patient scheduling, receive payments, review charges, and perform general office tasks.
  • Maintain continuing education requirements, staying current in the neurodiagnostic field.
Requirements:
  • Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification with the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT).
  • Current BLS certification.
