About the Position:
The North Carolina Department of the Secretary of State, Securities Division is dedicated to safeguarding investors in North Carolina. Key Responsibilities:
As a Securities Litigation Attorney, you will:
- Independently investigate and litigate complex administrative and criminal cases, including those involving digital assets and securities compliance.
- Manage investigations through litigation and post-trial sanctions.
- Conduct administrative hearings and criminal prosecutions, along with pre-trial and trial responsibilities.
- Possibly engage in administrative rule-making duties.
Travel Requirements:
This position may necessitate frequent travel within the state for court appearances.
Work Arrangement:
Eligible for an alternate worksite arrangement per the Secretary of State's Teleworking Policy, with the requirement to reside within a specified distance from the office.
Qualifications:
Applicants must demonstrate the following:
- Experience in prosecuting felonies or litigating complex administrative and civil cases.
- Knowledge of Federal Securities laws and North Carolina's related regulations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet compliance deadlines.
- Experience in conducting research and drafting legal documents clearly and precisely.
- Analytical skills to assess facts, evidence, and financial records to identify violations.
