Position Overview

The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for the proficient setup and operation of CNC Lathe Machines and machining centers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze blueprints, sketches, and drawings to ascertain dimensions and tolerances of the finished product.
  • Adhere to the sequence of operations as outlined in the setup documentation with minimal assistance.
  • Conduct basic quality control inspections and perform functional deburring as necessary.
  • Execute tool changes as required during machining processes.
Technical Skills

Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, and materials on various machines, including mills and lathes.
Calculate and set controls to manage machining parameters such as feeds, speeds, and coolant flow.
Initiate and monitor machine operations to identify malfunctions or deviations from specifications, making adjustments as needed.

Measurement and Verification

Utilize measuring instruments, including micrometers and height gauges, to verify dimensions and alignment.
Collaborate with team members and supervisors to receive instructions and coordinate tasks effectively.

Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant vocational training or work experience.
  • Basic understanding of GD&T and G&M codes.
  • Strong focus on quality and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated reliability and excellent attendance.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks that may require lifting between 10 to 50 pounds occasionally.

Employees may be required to follow additional job-related instructions and perform other duties as assigned.
