Position Overview

The role of the Telecommunications Fiber Quality Inspector encompasses vital responsibilities within the Utilities Telecom Construction sector. This position is crucial for ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality assurance, and compliance with engineering design specifications. The Inspector will work closely with contractors, engineers, and the public to maintain high standards in all project phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project documents issued by Utilities for feasibility before construction begins, identifying and managing potential issues.
  • Be present on-site throughout all construction activities to oversee compliance.
  • Assess contractor performance to ensure alignment with current Utility standards.
  • Enforce all terms and conditions set forth by Utilities, including legal, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Inspect and verify materials stored on-site and off-site for payment purposes, ensuring they match submittals and are correctly installed.
  • Maintain all required documentation as mandated by Utility standards.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the job site at all times.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and events as required by Utility.
  • Complete as-built documentation for all projects, detailing essential information such as attachment types, heights, and locations of underground facilities, ensuring timely submission to Utility personnel.
  • Fill out and submit daily safety and production reports to the appropriate Utility manager.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • High School diploma or GED, with documentation required.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations relevant to construction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Understanding of standard construction practices and safe operation of construction equipment.
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour training.
  • Experience in collaborative environments, including interactions with governmental agencies.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for assignments.
  • Physical capability to perform outdoor work and comply with PPE requirements.
  • Successful completion of background checks and drug screenings.
