Position Overview:
We are seeking a Clinical Operations Supervisor to become an integral part of our team. This role involves direct reporting to the Executive Director, Administrator, or Senior Patient Care Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the assigned hospice location, ensuring the clinical components of the hospice program are effectively administered.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients.
- Manage the site in the absence of senior leadership.
- Supervise clinical, administrative, and recordkeeping activities.
- Respond promptly and compassionately to phone inquiries and referrals.
- Participate in the on-call nursing schedule and provide direct skilled nursing care in patients' residences.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse with at least an Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred.
- Minimum of three years of direct patient care experience in a clinical environment.
- At least one year of management or supervisory experience is required.
- Two or more years of experience in hospice or home care settings are essential.
- Current nursing license in the state of employment is mandatory.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid nursing license in the state of employment.
- CPR Certification.
- Current automobile insurance and a valid driver's license.
Personal Attributes:
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of terminally ill patients and their families, both before and after the patient's passing.
- Ability to adapt to various tasks and maintain efficiency and composure under changing circumstances.
- Effective communication skills across diverse socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Capability to influence opinions and attitudes regarding care and support.
- Strong advocacy for patients' rights and needs.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
- In-depth understanding of the hospice concept and the roles of various disciplines involved in providing hospice services.
- Excellent patient assessment capabilities.
- Proficient in both oral and written communication.
- Comprehensive knowledge of managed care principles and regulatory guidelines.
