Position Overview

The Advanced Production Technician plays a vital role in the collaborative production process. Responsibilities include operating automated production machinery, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, assisting with preventative maintenance, and ensuring sanitation of all relevant equipment.

Additionally, this role is essential in fostering a safe working environment for both oneself and fellow technicians.

Competency in utilizing Enterprise software for data input affecting production and financial systems, as well as data retrieval and reporting, is required.

Demonstrating proficiency in all job-related activities that may impact product safety, legality, and quality is essential.

The position necessitates the ability to function effectively as part of a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and adhere to the production schedule for job assignments and reporting times
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area at all times
  • May be required to operate facility metal detectors; must complete necessary training and certification
  • Follow all work rules, safety regulations, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management, including adherence to attendance policies and operational rules
When assigned as:

Scaler
  • Verify the correct weight of raw ingredients for mixing
  • Prepare brew slurry for the mixer
  • Load, operate, and unload mixers
  • Check scaling weights and equipment standards
  • Accurately measure all ingredients for the dough mixer to maintain production schedules
  • Ensure adequate levels of ingredients in all bins
  • Assist mixer operators with heavy lifting and moving dough troughs
When assigned as:

Wrap Machine Operator
  • Ensure proper slicing, handling, and packaging of products according to quality standards
  • Review production wrap count sheets for bag types
  • Set up machinery and make necessary adjustments for each product
  • Ensure accurate product coding and labeling
  • Verify that products meet quality and packaging standards before shipping
  • Restock wrap and packaging supplies as needed
When assigned as:

Sponge Mixer
  • Prepare sponge according to established formulas and standards
  • Ensure consistency in sponge production through proper scaling and temperature control
  • Maintain production flow by efficiently mixing sponge
  • Document temperature and mixing times as required
When assigned as:

Make-up Breakperson

Provide break and meal relief for various operators, ensuring production standards are upheld during relief periods.

When assigned as:

Wrap Breakperson

Provide break and meal relief for wrap operators, with assignment durations varying based on operational needs.

Desired Experience

A minimum of two years of relevant experience is preferred.

Desired Education

A high school diploma or equivalent, along with successful completion of a technical certification course, is required. Equivalent military training or related technical training may also be considered.
