We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Performance Foodservice. This role is ideal for those who take pride in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet operations.

About the Job

This Diesel Technician Class B position plays a crucial role in maintaining our medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, and convertor dollies. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance tasks, identifying root causes of equipment failures, and conducting repairs as required.

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair, including PMs, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and refrigeration experience.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, battery checks, and lubricating equipment and machinery
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other critical parts to ensure proper operating condition
  • Conduct thorough documentation of work orders through our online Enterprise Asset Management system
  • Train and guide other mechanics as needed
Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 3-5 years of proven experience in medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair
