Lead Engineer for Maintenance and Reliability
Career opportunity to join a leading chemical company as a key member of the management team, responsible for the maintenance and reliability of fixed and rotating equipment at the plant site.
As a Lead Engineer, you will be responsible for providing asset maintenance, reliability, and outage guidance, as well as overall asset care. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing a reliability strategy based on business needs, including identification of critical spare equipment and parts, and determination of their inventory parameters.
- Managing all areas of mechanical equipment-related maintenance not covered by the Maintenance Improvement (MI) program.
- Coordinating plant changes, both equipment and process, to improve plant Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), yields, equipment reliability, process quality, and preventive maintenance.
- Analyzing maintenance costs and/or repair frequencies, and using existing analyses of OEE losses to identify bad actors and develop measures to improve or replace assets.
- Leading and managing cross-functional teams with Reliability Centered Maintenance, Root Cause Analysis, and Six Sigma Teams, Investigations, and Equipment Improvements.
- Preparing monthly reports summarizing the status of major maintenance and reliability activities and their ongoing capital projects.
- Executing maintenance work orders, ensuring work order quality metrics are met, and assuring operators enter work orders in JDE for all non-optimal issues in the plant.
Set weekly/daily maintenance scheduling priorities and lead/coordinated RCA investigations for all bad actors and significant reliability incidents. Assign RCA leaders and resources.
Qualifications:
- BS Engineering degree with 5+ years of experience as a Reliability/Maintenance Engineer working in a Process Safety Management (PSM) regulated chemical plant.
- Solid technical knowledge of predictive and preventive maintenance, mechanical integrity, and asset care/OEE.
- Extensive experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Six Sigma, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) programs.
- Ability to work now and in the future without sponsorship.
