Position Summary: The Cyber/Indications and Warnings Analyst will be tasked with executing Security Incident and Event Management for a vital Department of Defense operational system. The ideal candidate will exhibit exceptional capabilities in Incident Response and Management, Forensic Analysis, and will possess the ability to convey critical information to team members and leadership in a clear, complete, and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As an Attack, Sensing, Warning, and Response (ASWR) analyst, you will evaluate collected data to ascertain whether monitored systems are functioning normally or are under attack from adversaries.
  • You will also scrutinize this data to identify potential Insider Threats.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new dashboards and analytics to enhance existing reports and generate new reporting formats.
  • Collaboration with System Engineers and Administrators will be essential to refine the audit data collection process, aiming to minimize false positives and negatives.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Information Assurance or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing an Indications and Warnings monitoring tool.
  • Familiarity with tools such as StealthWatch, TripWire, Zenoss, and ArcSight.
  • Experience in fine-tuning audit data to decrease false positive and negative occurrences.
  • Proven experience in responding to identified security incidents.
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities.
  • A solid understanding of network intrusion detection methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a Network Security Operations Center (SOC) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in creating dashboards and analytics within Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
  • Experience in developing workflows for Incident Response within SIEM tools.
  • Certifications such as CISSP, GIAC Certified Incident Handler, and GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence are advantageous.
