The instructor will lead group sessions in a secure, enjoyable, and supportive atmosphere that accommodates individuals of all skill levels and fitness backgrounds. The instructor will foster a sense of community within the class and adapt sessions as necessary to cater to diverse health, ability, and cultural needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates dynamic, enjoyable, safe, and informative group sessions as directed by management to fulfill the YMCA's mission and objectives.
- Engages with program participants and members, addressing their inquiries to assist them in reaching their health and wellness aspirations.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of health and wellness trends to provide valuable insights and support to members.
- Observes and modifies teaching methods to accommodate all participants' abilities, physical conditions, health statuses, and cultural backgrounds.
- Recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of program participants related to their personal goals, skill mastery, or overall health improvements.
- Adheres to YMCA policies and procedures; responds effectively to emergency situations.
- Participates in all staff meetings.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities as assigned.
