This position requires a strong proficiency in all aspects of process engineering, which encompasses deliverables such as feasibility assessments, optimization analyses, process simulations, and heat and material balance calculations. The engineer will also be responsible for sizing process equipment, preparing process data for instrumentation and mechanical data sheets, and conducting hydraulic piping line sizing, along with other essential philosophies and reports. Additionally, the role includes performing relief calculations and flare network modeling.
Collaboration with project management personnel is crucial, as the engineer will provide regular updates, assist in scheduling, and contribute to staffing planning and coordination efforts.
The engineer will also be expected to review engineering calculations and drawings to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards, while overseeing the work of junior staff members.
Effective communication between the process team and other engineering disciplines is vital to maintain the quality of work and ensure consistent technical content across all design documents and data throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
Applicants should possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in process engineering.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
The role may involve occasional field visits, including climbing stairs and ladders, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
