Fryer Operator

Job Summary:

Utz Quality Foods is seeking a skilled Fryer/Peeler Operator to join our team of manufacturing professionals in Wilkes-Barre, PA.

This position will work on our NEW Weekend Day crew, requiring Saturday-Sunday 6AM-6PM shifts with opportunities to volunteer on Mondays through Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for frying quality chips.
• Prepare fryer and associated components for startup.
• Monitor equipment performance and product continuously throughout production.
• Maintain proper levels of output and quality, reporting all unusual occurrences in product rejections to the supervisor.
• Carry out all duties necessary for daily equipment shut down and cleaning.
• Maintain all required operation records and log sheets, ensuring accurate, complete, and legible entries.
• Carry out all weekly sanitation procedures on fryer and related equipment.
• Change and set blades.
• Work as peeler/fryer operator when cross-training other operators.
• Responsible to follow all safety rules and work safely at all times.
• Responsible to report unsafe equipment and practices to supervisor.
• Requires working proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Must adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices.

Requirements:

• Requires knowledge of production flow, operating procedures, and sanitation procedures.
• Some knowledge of machinery is preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Constant attention to flow of potatoes to avoid slowing production.
• Able to work in a warm to hot work environment.
• Able to pay great attention to detail.
• Requires own reliable transportation to the worksite.
