Job Overview: The position involves performing essential clerical duties to support the operations of the treasury department. Responsibilities include managing and processing payments owed to the County, issuing various licenses, and addressing taxpayer inquiries both in person and via phone. Additionally, the role encompasses the processing of property deeds and requires prior experience in office administration. The work is conducted under close to general supervision from administrative personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Receives, verifies, and processes payments to the County, including water, sewer, and tax payments. Accurately calculates amounts for tax bills.
2. Serves as the primary deed examiner, handling intake, vetting, and approval processes.
3. Verifies expenditure vouchers and prepares purchase requisitions.
4. Manages clerical tasks related to deeds and property transactions.
5. Processes tax and water/sewer bills, ensuring cash registers are settled accurately.
6. Collects payments for and issues licenses for animals and liquor.
7. Assists the public with inquiries regarding taxes, payments, licenses, and related topics. Responds to phone calls and processes incoming correspondence.
8. Disburses petty cash as needed.
9. Aids in tax sale preparations, conducts audits, and prepares necessary reports.
10. Maintains various databases for tax refunds, credits, and hotel/motel excise taxes.
11. Performs general office clerical work as assigned.

Knowledge of:
- Modern office procedures and practices, including the operation of office equipment such as calculators and computers.
- Provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to the public.

- Utilize a computer for spreadsheets and financial/accounting software.
- Execute general office clerical tasks efficiently.
- Interact effectively with the public.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience:
Three years of experience in a customer service role involving cash handling, payment processing, and financial transaction recording.
Licenses or Certifications:
None required.

Position requires prolonged use of keyboard devices.
Work Environment:
Role may involve frequent interruptions.
Compensation:
Pay rate: $25.25 per hour; $45,955 annually.
Grade 718, 35 hours per week.
