This role involves acting as a patient advocate, ensuring continuity of care that aligns with individual patient requirements through collaboration with the healthcare team. The circulating nurse will evaluate the pre-operative needs of patients to facilitate a smooth surgical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and necessary supplies for surgical procedures.
  • Open sterile packs and supplies, adhering to the surgeon's preference card for specific requests.
  • Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, including patient identification, care planning, consent verification, lab result confirmation, operative site identification, and allergy checks.
  • Complete the safe surgery checklist to ensure all protocols are followed.
  • Accompany and support patients throughout each phase of the surgical process.

Qualifications: Candidates must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Utah, along with current CPR and ACLS certifications. Physical requirements include the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, lift and/or carry over 25 pounds regularly, and push/pull over 50 pounds consistently. Patient care tasks may necessitate the capability to exert force exceeding 50 pounds.
