Job Responsibilities

In this pivotal role at Denver International Airport, the third-busiest airport in the U.S., you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing compliance and enforcement related to construction, regulatory audits, and access control, ensuring adherence to the Airport Security Program.
  • Managing a team of Program Security Managers who supervise regulatory audits and compliance, guiding staff in their responsibilities.
  • Mentoring and developing staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and setting performance benchmarks.
  • Acting as a technical authority on access control systems, including the implementation of new biometric solutions.
  • Leading special projects assigned by senior management, including various security initiatives.
  • Serving as a security Subject Matter Expert, providing training and developing operational documentation to support security objectives.
  • Creating and executing communication strategies to keep the airport community informed about security protocols.
  • Participating in the development of operational policies and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the Compliance & Enforcement unit.
  • Acting as an alternate Airport Security Coordinator, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Collaborating with various departments to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance.

Candidate Profile

We seek candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Proven leadership skills and a collaborative approach in a team environment.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring staff in a regulated setting.
  • Familiarity with aviation security regulations, particularly 49 CFR Part 1542.
  • Relevant certifications in airport security.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present information effectively.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Three years of supervisory or specialist experience in an aviation context.
  • Valid Driver's License and necessary certifications.
