Banquet Captain

At Monroe Golf Club, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to join our team.

Job Summary

The Banquet Captain will be responsible for the smooth execution of member and private events at the club. This includes supervising and supporting the private events service staff, ensuring that stations and pre-meal side work are ready for service, and communicating effectively with staff and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that stations and pre-meal side work are ready for service.
• Assist with pre-shift meetings to ensure proper communication.
• Greets Members/Guests with a hospitable smile.
• Is well-versed in all banquet menus, wines, beverages, and service methods.
• Works hands-on training staff to the standards set forth in the MGC service training manual.
• Assists the private event manager in the supervision and adherence of policies and procedures.
• Communicates well with staff and management at all times.
• Practices MGC service etiquette and protocols as outlined in the MGC server training manual.
• Checks with tables to ensure Member/Guest satisfaction.
• Assists with nightly closing duties to ensure proper supervision of tasks.
• Assists with training of POS operations and issues.
• Assists with ensuring proper POS closing procedures are followed.
• Keeps tables, chairs, dining rooms, and service stations clean at all times.
• Advises management of any complaints as soon as they occur.
• Ensures assigned closing duties, i.e., re-setting dining room, re-stock service station, clean up, and closing duties as assigned by the private manager are complete.
• Completes server report/end of night reports and submits to accounting as appropriate.
• Ensures that staff adheres to standard uniform policy as outlined in MGC server training manual.
• Arrives on time and ready to work each shift in adherence to the weekly schedule.
• Works clean and efficiently in all areas of the clubhouse, including shared kitchen spaces.
• Fulfills any and all tasks assigned by the Private Manager and Director of Food and Beverage.
• Ensures an exceptional dining experience to our members and guests by actively serving tables.

Requirements

• Able to communicate clearly to the members, guests, and staff of Monroe Golf Club.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to lift up to 50lbs, reach, bend, and stoop.
• Able to work well in stressful situations.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Minimum 5yrs as lead server or captain in upscale hotels, resorts, clubs, or restaurants with event services.
