Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms, prepares for physician visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
  • Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
  • Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
  • Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
  • Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
  • Educates patients on follow-up expectations.
  • Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
  • Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
  • Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
  • Assists with office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, performing office-related tasks, and assisting with depositing cash and other closing duties.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program.
  • One (1) year of clinical experience.
  • Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of healthcare education coursework.
  • One (1) year of healthcare experience.
