Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Laboratory Specimen Coordinator to join our team at FirstHealth of the Carolinas, Inc. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of laboratory specimens.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receiving, processing, and distributing laboratory specimens in accordance with laboratory guidelines.
  • Preparing, packaging, and shipping Category A/B lab specimens to approved Reference labs.
  • Overseeing specimen collection directions and ensuring compliance with laboratory guidelines.
  • Performing patient data order entry and result distribution to maintain efficient laboratory operations.
  • Providing customer service support to phlebotomists, technical staff, and laboratory clients.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Computer experience required.
  • Working knowledge of handling blood/body fluid and other laboratory specimens preferred, in accordance with infection control guidelines.
  • Valid Driver's License with good driving record to meet criteria to drive FirstHealth vehicle.
