Job Description:

This role is a key contributor to Amcor's automation initiatives, focusing on the development and support of industrial control systems across North American manufacturing facilities.

The position requires close collaboration with plant personnel to assess needs and design controls-based solutions that enhance overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).

Responsibilities include:

  • Administering and maintaining automation systems
  • Working directly with plant personnel in SCADA implementation and controls systems design
  • Developing and maintaining documentation for system architecture and interfacing
  • Providing programming and troubleshooting of PLC controls and SCADA/MES applications
  • Architecting, writing, and debugging PLC code, emphasizing organized, structured, documented, maintainable, and reusable code for manufacturing applications
  • Performing Human Machine Interface designs (HMI)
  • Collaborating with Ops Engineering & Program Managers on defining standards for industrial controls in Capital Projects
  • Performing planning, scheduling, installation, monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, repair, backup, and upgrade for production environment

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline, along with 7+ years of experience in development and support of SCADA systems and/or industrial controls networks.

A proven record with Industrial communication and PLC messaging, experience in 24/7 high volume manufacturing environments, and proficiency in MS SQL Database support, programming, administration are also highly desired.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Controls Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in development and support of SCADA systems and/or industrial controls networks
  • Proven record with Industrial communication and PLC messaging
  • Experience in 24/7 high volume manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in MS SQL Database support, programming, administration
