Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and Development: Design and develop power distribution electrical and communication systems for our manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • System Studies: Conduct power system studies, including load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, and arc flash studies, to ensure system reliability and safety.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams for troubleshooting power system issues and serve as a subject matter expert on power systems engineering.
  • Design Review: Review and approve electrical designs and specifications for new projects and modifications through collaboration with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
  • Maintenance Programs: Develop, implement, and optimize preventive maintenance programs for critical power system equipment.
  • Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices related to power systems engineering.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 7+ years of electrical experience, preferably in industrial settings within large petrochemical manufacturing facilities.
  • Skills: Strong understanding and troubleshooting knowledge of power distribution systems, including transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, and protective relaying up to 138kV.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in power system analysis software such as ETAP or SKM PowerTools.
  • Industry Standards: Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., IEEE, NEC, ANSI, etc).
  • SCADA Systems: Familiarity with programming and communication of SCADA systems.
  • Relay Programming: Knowledge and familiarity with programming of SEL and GE relays.
