Position Summary

The Early Childhood Education Specialist plays a crucial role in shaping the foundational experiences of young learners. Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute educational programs by crafting classroom activities that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning benchmarks.
  • Demonstrate leadership by inspiring and guiding the teaching team through effective modeling and coaching.
  • Develop individualized and group activities that are age-appropriate, aimed at enhancing children's social, cognitive, and emotional development.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with parents through informal discussions, progress updates, and scheduled conferences.
  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations.
  • Uphold a healthy classroom environment by adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, safety, and security standards for children.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to guarantee adherence to planned activities and safety protocols.
  • Keep precise records, documentation, and files.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance quality and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in child care (consideration will be given to candidates with less experience who are willing to obtain certification on the job).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer proficiency.
  • High energy levels and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, children, and parents to foster a supportive team environment.
  • A solid understanding of child development principles.
  • Certification in Infant/Child CPR and First Aid.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and health screening.
  • An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with at least 30 credits in ECE.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to walk frequently, manipulate objects, communicate effectively, and perform tasks that may require kneeling, bending, or crawling.
  • Visual acuity to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
