Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for Evening Shift

Novant Health is in search of a Pharmacy Technician Supervisor for the evening shift, to lead our acute care pharmacy team. This role involves overseeing team members and ensuring effective medication management across all care dimensions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in essential duties as necessary, including medication distribution, controlled-substance management, medication listing, and sterile compounding.
  • Supervise pharmacy operations and technician activities.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of pharmacy technicians.
  • Participate in onboarding and training for new technicians.
  • Conduct competency assessments for technicians and provide immediate feedback on performance, coaching team members towards success.
  • Develop and maintain the schedule for pharmacy technicians.
  • Support pharmacy leadership goals by completing projects and initiatives promptly, while identifying process improvement opportunities based on feedback and experience.
  • Monitor and identify ways to enhance productivity and efficiency in resource utilization.
  • Foster positive relationships and effective communication with team members.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate Degree required; a commitment to obtain a degree within three years is necessary if not currently held. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of five years as a Pharmacy Technician required; two years within Novant Health preferred. Previous leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Licensure/Certification: PTCB certification required; NCBOP Technician Registration required. Additional specialized certifications from PTCB, ASHP, or NBMTM preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of basic math, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and the capacity to follow instructions. Basic technology skills are essential. Must be able to travel to various facilities as needed and work effectively within a high-performing team.
