Job Summary:

This role is responsible for performing Diagnostic Radiologic exams in accordance with ARRT standards and ethics. The successful candidate will comply with company policies and procedures, including regulatory changes and prescribed safety standards, with the needs of the patient and physician in mind. As a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist, you will perform duties under the general supervision of a Site Manager and Radiologist.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provides patient care in accordance with company mission, vision, and values.
  2. Prepares patients for radiologic exams with clear instructions and a thorough explanation of the procedure.
  3. Obtains a thorough patient history as it relates to the exam to be completed.
  4. Assists the Radiologist during Fluoroscopic procedures when applicable.
  5. Captures diagnostic images accurately and efficiently.
  6. Adheres to exam protocols as established by the department.
  7. Utilizes proper radiation safety devices to avoid unnecessary radiation exposure.
  8. Shields patients from unnecessary radiation exposure, adhering to the ALARA principle.
  9. Assists and radiographs wheelchair patients and infants in positioning devices.
  10. Completes Modality Worksheets with accurate information for the Radiologist.
  11. Maintains high standards regarding the accurate recording of patient information.
  12. Utilizes accurate written and oral communications with patients, physicians, co-workers, and supervisors.
  13. Performs necessary computer functions associated with patient exams.
  14. Keeps work areas and patient exam areas neat and stocked with appropriate supplies.
  15. Participates in orientation and in-service training for personnel.
  16. Maintains a professional demeanor with confidentiality.
  17. Is prompt and efficient with minimal absences.
  18. Cooperates and maintains good rapport with co-workers to ensure proper patient care and efficient workflow.

Requirements:

  • ARRT (R) registered or Registry eligible.
  • Valid Washington State Radiologic Technologist Certification.
  • Current BLS certification required.

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Work is classified as moderate in physical requirements. Must be able to assist in supporting patients of varying weight. Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction. Also requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment as necessary.

Mental Requirements:

Work requires high attention to detail and the ability to handle mentally stressful situations. The ability to maintain a high level of sensitivity towards confidential information is also required.
