Electrical Discipline Engineer Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Discipline Engineer to join our team at H2M architects + engineers. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for a variety of projects, including power distribution, lighting, communication, and security systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of electrical systems, including power distribution, stand-by power generation, lighting, communication, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Grow, develop, and supervise a team of electrical engineers in project design and development tasks, including drawings, calculations, cost estimates, and specifications.
  • Oversee and review electrical department design documents to ensure completion and adherence to industry and company standards.
  • Collaborate with the QA/QC team to develop and implement company quality standards and procedures.
  • Work with the MEP management team to develop and implement electrical short- and long-range manpower and production plans to meet project objectives.
  • Assist in the cultivation of business development initiatives to pursue new projects, including participation in client presentations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 10-15 years of experience with a consulting engineering firm designing building power, lighting, communication, and security systems.
  • Thorough understanding and knowledge of the architectural and engineering industry, including federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Licensed NJ Professional Engineer (NY PE a plus).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience using Outlook and Microsoft Office (or similar software).
  • LEED Accreditation and working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, and EasyPower desired.
  • Prior experience supervising staff.
  • Experience with HVAC and plumbing systems a plus.
