Position Overview:
The Journalism and Public Relations Department is actively seeking applications for a pool of lecturers to fill temporary teaching positions as needed throughout the academic year. These appointments are contingent upon departmental requirements and may be made shortly before the academic term begins.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in contemporary media or public relations.
Preferred Qualifications:
To distinguish between candidates, the following qualifications are preferred:
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the college level.
- Three years of professional experience in journalism, media, or public relations within the last five years, demonstrating current knowledge in the field.
- Experience in coaching writers, particularly for writing-intensive courses.
- Active engagement in professional activities such as writing, editing, or communication consulting.
- Experience in alumni outreach and engagement.
- Ability to teach social media and multi-platform media skills.
- Commitment to staying current in journalism or public relations.
- Experience working with diverse audiences.
- Bilingual candidates are preferred.
Responsibilities:
Lecturers will be responsible for teaching assignments that align with their qualifications and departmental needs. Duties include:
- Delivering in-person or online instruction.
- Providing timely feedback to students and submitting grades.
- Holding office hours for student consultations.

The Journalism & Public Relations Department is accredited by ACEJMC and emphasizes student-centered teaching. The program offers a Bachelor of Arts in journalism with specializations in news and public relations, providing students with hands-on experience through campus media outlets.
