We are seeking a highly skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Mercy Health. As a Physical Therapist, you will be responsible for evaluating, planning, and implementing Physical Therapy services for patients according to the standards of practice of the profession, laws governing practice, and facility and department policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate patients using appropriate non-standardized and standardized tests, and ensure completion of patient pre-certification/authorization requirements as needed.
- Develop individualized treatment programs consistent with patient's age, diagnosis, functional status, and personal goals, and include the patient and/or family in development of attainable goals.
- Select and administer appropriate techniques, modalities, and interventions to maximize outcomes, and monitor patient's response to treatment and modify the plan as needed.
- Effectively communicate with patients, families/caregivers, and treatment teams both orally and in writing, and collaborate with patients, families/caregivers, and treatment teams in planning for discharge.
- Promote the profession by participating in the Clinical Education program and providing education to others, and act as a fitness/wellness instructor as needed for community programs.
- Maintain competency by participation in continuing education, in-services, and other learning opportunities, and meet standards for all required reviews of competency.
- Share responsibility for common goals of the team by carrying a caseload consistent with peers, maintaining the work environment and inventories, adjusting individual responsibilities to meet needs of the department/work environment, and positively representing the department and profession to others.
- Participate in process improvement by identification of improvement opportunities for patient care, data collection, and solutions to identified problems.
- Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- Holds a current Physical Therapy license from the State of Ohio in good standing.
- Maintains CPR Certification.
- Preferred: Graduate of an accredited program in Physical Therapy with a Doctorate-level degree, and Certification in a specialty area.
