The Physical Therapist Assistant position is a full-time role focused on providing essential support in the rehabilitation process. Key Responsibilities:
- Implement physical therapy interventions as outlined in the patient's plan of care; maintain communication with the Physical Therapist regarding any changes in patient condition and treatment response.
- Guide and motivate patients in performing therapeutic exercises and daily living activities, utilizing assistive devices as necessary to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.
- Administer various physical therapy modalities, including ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold treatments, to facilitate pain management and functional recovery.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient progress and treatment outcomes in the electronic medical record system.
- Develop and instruct patients and their families on home exercise programs to support ongoing recovery after discharge.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's degree in Science from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
- Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in an outpatient therapy setting is required.
- Licensure: Must possess a current New York State license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Compliance: Commitment to complete annual safety training and health-related courses as mandated.
- Adherence to patient safety protocols and infection control measures is essential.
