Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Perinatal Nurse Specialist to join our team at CHRISTUS Health. As a key member of our Labor and Delivery Department, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to a positive patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and complex care to patients in the Labor and Delivery Department, utilizing the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, and evaluate patient care.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, taking into account the unique needs and circumstances of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and document patient history, symptoms, and care provided.
  • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers, promoting health literacy and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and safety.
Requirements
  • 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty, preferably in a Perinatal setting.
  • Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a Perinatal setting is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
  • RN License in the state of employment or compact.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Current certification from NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or AWHONN courses, as required.
  • Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Current NRP certification at time of hire.
