Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metal Finisher to join our team at Oshkosh Corporation. As a Metal Finisher, you will be responsible for performing general labor duties and assisting with preparing parts for painting. This includes sanding and taping surfaces, disassembling truck parts, and performing quality checks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble truck parts and prepare them for painting
  • Grind and sand surfaces of parts, cabs, and bodies
  • Perform quality checks of work performed
  • Communicate verbally with co-workers to maintain a safe working environment
  • Lift light or heavy truck parts on and off a cart
  • Use basic hand tools to prepare work for the painting process
  • Use a cart to push/pull equipment and parts to and from designated areas
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to maintain a safe working environment
  • Hanging or unhanging of parts
  • Assist co-workers with lifting parts off of and onto carts or hangers
  • Record inventory of parts that may be moved in and out of the paint department
  • Assist with sanding, caulking, and taping of truck parts for the painting process
  • Understand the differences in parts and tools
  • Use of a computer to locate parts
  • Sweep, paint, and clean shop area
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Requirements

  • 1 or more years of relevant experience OR High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience within a manufacturing or operational environment
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
