Role Summary and QualificationsAs a Critical Care Nurse, you will deliver direct patient care in accordance with the Registered Nurse Practice Act.
Your responsibilities will include utilizing therapeutic communication techniques, maintaining a safe and supportive environment, and identifying nursing challenges tailored to the unique needs of each patient. You will create personalized care plans while engaging in a collaborative approach with interdisciplinary teams. Participation in performance improvement initiatives is also expected, ensuring care aligns with the hospital's mission and vision.
In a charge nurse capacity, you will oversee daily operations to guarantee high-quality patient care in a supportive environment. This includes making staff assignments based on patient needs and staff competencies, serving as a clinical resource, and responding promptly to inquiries from physicians, staff, or patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct nursing assessments, formulate diagnoses, develop care plans, and implement treatment for all assigned patients.
- Perform initial triage evaluations and assign acuity levels to patients.
- Administer treatments, medications, and procedures within your scope of practice.
- Coordinate care with management, team leaders, physicians, departmental staff, and ancillary services.
- Delegate tasks to technical support staff while maintaining accountability for those delegations.
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an Accredited School of Nursing.
- Current TN RN or Compact State License in your state of residence.
- BLS certification obtained within 90 days of employment.
Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed facility located near downtown Chattanooga, offering a wide range of diagnostic, medical, and surgical services, including cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. Our services encompass intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation, alongside a state-of-the-art neurosurgery program. Patients also benefit from OB-GYN services and access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and behavioral health treatment centers for all ages.
