Position Overview:


The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for the precise compounding and dispensing of prescribed medications, ensuring compliance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Accurately compounds and dispenses medications in a timely manner for optimal patient care.
2. Provides expert consultation on medication dosages and suitable forms to healthcare professionals including Doctors and Nurses.
3. Upholds established protocols for quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and the safe disposal of hazardous medications.
4. Engages in the training and development of pharmacy staff and inter-departmental personnel.
5. Ensures adherence to departmental policies and procedures.
6. Supervises pharmacy technicians, interns, students, and volunteers, ensuring high standards of practice.
7. Applies proper aseptic techniques when preparing intravenous medications.
8. Conducts regular inspections of assigned nursing units to maintain safety and compliance.
9. Manages inventory levels effectively, placing orders as necessary to ensure availability of medications.
10. Assists management with special projects and tasks as required.
11. Regularly checks and replenishes emergency medication supplies as needed.

Education and Experience:
Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy recognized by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Previous experience in a hospital setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Credentials:
Must possess a valid New Jersey Pharmacist License in good standing.

Qualifications:
Demonstrated commitment to patient care and safety, with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical practices.
