Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform blood-drawing procedures to obtain specimens from patients of all ages, including immunosuppressed, late-stage cancer, and morbidly obese individuals.
  • Collect and process blood samples for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Provide phlebotomy training and product evaluation as needed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Two years of experience as a BWH phlebotomist with a performance evaluation score of effective or above.
Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of proper aseptic techniques and ability to select appropriate vacutainer tubes and volumes for test requests.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations.
