We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at Mount Sinai Morningside. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for providing security services to our patients, employees, and visitors, while also ensuring the safety and security of our facility.
Key Responsibilities- Provide security services to patients, employees, and visitors, including patrolling assigned areas and investigating unusual occurrences.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as restraints, patient observations, and disruptive persons.
- Participate in access control, including checking identification, screening visitors, and clearing areas at the end of visiting hours.
- Direct vehicle traffic to prevent congestion and ensure the safe movement of ambulances.
- Offer assistance and direction to visitors and patients, and detain individuals who are not authorized to be on the premises.
- Conduct security escorts within the Medical Center, to parking lots, and to staff residences.
- Escort Medical Center funds and valuables from various locations to the Cashier.
- Submit timely and complete reports on all pertinent security activity.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- None, but experience in security or law enforcement is preferred.
- Current NYS licensure as Security Officer (Preferred Issuing Agency: NYS/Department of State).
