Vets Hired is seeking a skilled School Resource Officer to provide law enforcement services in a school environment. This role requires a unique blend of policing expertise and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong relationships with students and staff.
Key Responsibilities- Perform various law enforcement activities related to the school environment, including working with students, disseminating information, and providing assistance through referrals and public safety services.
- Act as a mentor and role model for students, promoting positive behavior and encouraging academic achievement.
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to develop strategies for improving school safety and reducing disciplinary incidents.
- Graduation from an accredited high school supplemented by coursework at a police training school or academy.
- Current State of Florida Law Enforcement Officer Certification in good standing.
- Minimum of two years of Police Officer experience.
- Valid State of Florida Driver's License and a good driving record.
- Citizenship of the United States at the time of application.
- Good moral character, as defined by Florida Administrative Code 11B-27.
- No felony convictions, driver's license suspensions within five years, or steroid usage within five years.
- No visible tattoos above the collarbone, face, head, scalp, or hands.
- No illegal controlled substance use within three years or tobacco product use within six months.
