Position Overview:
The Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) plays a crucial role in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This position involves a variety of personalized patient care tasks aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of the elderly population.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patients.
  • Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
  • Perform transfers and lifts in accordance with facility protocols.
  • Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to patients.
  • Assist residents in using assistive devices.
  • Observe and implement infection control procedures to safeguard patient health.
  • Report any unusual findings or conditions to the supervising nurse.
  • Organize and clean patient rooms.
  • Help with the organization of residents' personal belongings and laundry.
  • Support nursing staff during patient admissions and discharges.
  • Prepare patients for appointments or transfers.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Active CNA certification with Geriatric specialization is required.
  • Experience with memory care patients is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience as a certified nursing assistant within the last three years is desirable.
  • Completion of a certified nursing assistant program with proof of active certification is necessary.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clerical functions is advantageous.
  • Current CPR certification and health certificate as per state regulations.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
